Safer Beauty, Vacation Favorites

What’s in my makeup bag?

Hey friends! Happy Friday!  We’ve been having a great time in Cape May this week.  We got to spend a few days with various family members and had a great time, but the rest of the trip is just the two of us.  Yesterday we went to the zoo, did some driving (aka my husband’s favorite thing to do) and had a date night at the house with ice cream and TV.  The internet is spotty here, so we dug into the archives and found a VHS (remember those?!) of the Aladdin sequel, Return of Jafar.  Aladdin happens to be one of our favorite Disney moviess, so we were pretty thrilled with this find!

I wanted to share my favorite skincare and makeup products for traveling, but before I do, I need to tell you that all of the Beautycounter products listed here are currently 20% off with code LOVE!!   This deal is only good until Monday 8/13, and there’s a good chance they may sell out before then, so make sure you take advantage of this great deal!

I’ve never been one of those women who can pack “light”.  I like my stuff, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.  That being said, I try to be a bit more minimalist in my routine when I’m on vacation.  I actually managed to pack all of these products in one travel bag, so I’m calling that a win.

For skincare, I keep it simple by using as few products as possible.  My morning routine is to rinse with water, and moisturize with Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion, and No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil.  In the evening I use the One-Step Makeup Remover Wipes to get my makeup off – I cut them in half to get more out of a pack, and then I apply the Cleansing Balm as my nighttime moisturizer.  The Cleansing Balm is a double duty cleanser/moisturizer, so I love to use it on vacation instead of bringing a separate cleanser & moisturizer.

When it comes to makeup I don’t exactly go full glam, but I like to feel put together when we’re out and about.  My every day products are the Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage (It has SPF 20), Voumizing Mascara, Color Define Brow Pencil, and Illuminating Cream Highlighters in bronze glow and rose glow.

If we’re going out for dinner or I want to do a little extra I throw on some concealer and eye shadow.  I decided to bring the Statement Palette with me because there are so many great colors for subtle or bold looks.  My favorite look recently has been to use “Cider” on my lid, and “Nightfall” in my outer corner/crease.  When I do put eyeshadow on I use Tarte’s eye primer stick and Beautycounter’s Mattifying Powder because I have super oily lids and that keeps my eye makeup from creasing.  If you’re not as oily, regular concealer will work great for you.

DON’T FORGET!!  The code LOVE will get you 20% off Beautycounter’s website from now through Monday!  If you’re not sure which products are right for you, leave a comment, shoot me an email, or complete the skincare consultation form and I’d be happy to help you out!

Have a great weekend! ❤
